Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers for former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso due to concerns over his fitness, according to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial.
Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti and his coaching staff have been worried by Alonso's physical state during the first few sessions of pre-season training.
El Confidencial claim the Basque anchorman has lost weight and appeared physically weak since returning to club duty after Spain's torrid World Cup campaign.
And despite the fact Alonso only signed a two-year contract extension in January, Real Madrid are open to offers for the 32-year-old, who would be expected to attract a string of suitors in Spain and across Europe.
The European champions' stance on the former Anfield favourite is also heavily influenced by the fact that Ancelotti intends to use German World Cup winner Toni Kroos and former Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric as his first-choice central-midfield pairing this season.
