Man City paid Fiorentina £22m for Jovetic last summer, but was plagued by injuries in his first season. The 24-year-old is a class act and he has been in a rich vein of form in pre-season with two goals against AC Milan and Liverpool and one against Olympiakos, hinting he is ready to help defend the Premier League title. “Last year I think I played well when I was fit. This year hopefully when I have a good preparation with the team it's going to be a different story,” he said. His manager Manuel Pellegrini agrees. “I'm sure if he continues in this way he will show why he is here. If he's fit all the year, he will be a very important player for us," he explained.
