The popular Eighties group Duran Duran is suing its own fan club.
The band, known for hits such as Notorious and Hungry Like the Wolf, are claiming that Chicago-based company Worldwide Fan Clubs have breached contract by not paying the band promised revenue.
The suit, filed in Cook County Circuit Court this week, says that the band entered a 2010 contract allowing the club to collect memberships and sell merchandise. The contract also allegedly stipulated Duran Duran would get 75 percent of the profits.
According to band’s lawyer, Worldwide Fan Clubs is yet to make some of these payments. The lawsuit also alleges that the club have failed to keep accurate financial records.
Duran Duran are hoping to win around £23,500 ($40,000) in compensation from Worldwide Fan Clubs. To date, the club have refused to comment on the lawsuit.
